On Monday 12/23, Thursday 12/26, Friday 12/27, Monday 12/30, Thursday 1/2, and Friday 1/3, St. Paul’s Field House will be open for “Family Fun” for Village of Garden City families. This open time provides the opportunity for families to enjoy various gym activities in an indoor environment. The gym will be available for use from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. on all above dates.
This time is designated for family time only. No organized practices or workouts will be allowed. Although there will be staff to monitor activity, this is not a drop off program. We ask that all elementary and middle school aged children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. For the safety of our users, sports involving paddle, stick, or bat equipment will not be allowed.
We are looking for anyone 16 years or older to hire for our programs. We have an after-school program that would involve playing organized games with children, led by one of the Recreational Leaders. The program runs December 3rd - February 13th, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursdays from 3:30-6pm, you can do one or all the days. In the summer, we also have a summer program that runs at the 5 parks in The Village of Garden City. We have arts and crafts and sports all day. · New Year’s Eve Celebration for Kids! – *Family Show! Tuesday, December 31st at 12 noon in Cluett Hall - featuring entertainment by JESTER JIM!

These family events are free of charge.
In addition to sending their letters to Santa, kids can take a chance at guessing the number of candy pieces in the jar next to Santa’s Mailbox and the child whose guess is closest to the actual number will win the jar, candy and all! As with Santa’s mailbox, the candy contest will be available from December 9th to December 20th.
It’s time to send letters to Santa and the Recreation Department will speed up the process! A special “Santa’s Mailbox” will be set up in the waiting area of the Recreation Department’s Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Avenue beginning December 2nd. Children can drop their letters in the mailbox and Santa will send them a personalized reply, please be sure to include a return address. Santa’s mailbox will be available through December 20th.

Community Park is the heart and soul of the department. This park is home to our Tennis Center, Platform Tennis Courts, Clubhouse, Mini Golf, and newly renovated baseball/softball turf fields, and multi-use sports field.
Located in the middle of beautiful Garden City, the St. Paul's Recreation complex is used year round! Thirty acres of fields are used for various sports and events. In addition the complex has a Performing Arts Center and houses four full basketball courts.
The Department of Recreation and Parks sponsors a full range of activities, programs and trips to entertain our seniors.
Residents must be age 60 and older and reside within the Village of Garden City to use the facility.
More than just a standard municipal pool this facility continues to maintain a “Club Like” atmosphere with landscaped grounds, shade structures, and an interactive play pool and slides. We are “Fun in the Sun!”
One of the hidden gems of the Village of Garden City is our neighborhood parks. Our parks offer residents a place to shoot hoops, play on an open field or run around in a playground. Each park offers a unique experience.
The department offers a diverse number of programs to Garden City residents of all ages. We hope you will join in with other residents of Garden City who take part in the programs and activities we provide.
July is National Park and Recreation Month. Garden City Recreation and Parks is thrilled to adopt the celebratory slogan for this year "Where You Belong"!
Can't stop by to register for a class? By obtaining a password ,after residence verification, you can register for department programs in the comforts of your home. This service is only for residents of the Village of Garden City.
