After School Gym Program
We are happy to announce we will offer after school gym programs at St. Paul's Fieldhouse starting the week of December 2nd. The program is free but permission forms MUST be filled out for youth to participate.

Garden City Pool Employee Interviews Announced
The Garden City Department of Recreation and Parks is happy to announce registration for the start of our Bricks4Kidz K – 6 Program.
Children in grades K – 3 will use Legos to sample models from over two dozen different themes such as Super Hero Academy, Amusement Park, Mindstorm Robotics and Space Adventures! They will be encouraged and challenged to innovate and invent their own models or customize existing models to express their individual creativity.
Children in grades 3 - 6 will use Lego blocks and collaborate with each other to learn mechanical design, construction and programming is a fun setting.
This program is open to children in grades K - 6 who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. Classes will be held on Mondays or Fridays and will begin the week of January 13. The cost will be $135. To register, please visit the Recreation and Parks Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.
Mad Science Winter Session
Garden City Recreation is offering camps geared to children who are interested in science. Mad Science of Long Island is a company who provides a wonderful and fun learning experience in an after school setting. Different topics are offered for each week and each day the participants will cover a range of activities pertaining to the topic. Residents of the Village of Garden City entering grades K - 5 are encouraged to attend. Classes begin the week of January 13 and the cost of each session will be $102. Zumba's Winter Session begins the week of January 6
The following Winter Zumba exercise classes for adults will be
offered by the Department of Recreation and Parks beginning the week of January 6:
Monday evenings at 7:45 pm 10 weeks for $90
Monday mornings at 9:15 am 10 weeks for $90
Saturday mornings at 9:15 am 10 weeks for $90
All classes will be held in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall.
Classes are lead by Felicia Lovaglio, Director of our Dance Conservatory and adjunct professor at Adelphi. Each class is 45 minutes long. To register for any of these classes, visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.
Our winter Zumba Gold classes will be held in St. Paul’s Senior Center on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm or Thursday afternoons at 1 pm. Each 45 minute class, teaching the basics of Zumba, is led by Felicia Lovaglio, our certified Zumba instructor. This class is geared for seniors or the beginner adult. Classes will begin the week of January 6.
Prices are as follows:
Monday at 6:30 pm Seniors (65 or older)- $50 Others - $90
Thursdays at 2:00 pm Seniors - $50 Others - $90

Adult Yoga Registration Begins
Our fall session of Yoga with Connie McKnight will begin again according to the following schedule:
Mondays 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. 10 classes beginning January 6
Wednesdays 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. 10 classes beginning January 8
The cost of each session will be $65.
This program is open to adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The Wednesday morning class will meet in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall . The Monday evening class will meet in St. Paul’s Senior Center. The class is geared towards the average person. Please make sure to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes. Long Island Chorale Society “Messiah” at Adelphi
Our Recreation and Park Department has secured discounted tickets to the Long Island Chorale Society’s performance of “Messiah” at Adelphi University’s Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 21 at 8 pm. This trip is “on your own” and tickets can be purchased by Garden City residents at the Recreation Office (108 Rockaway Avenue) for the following prices:
Adults - $15.00
Seniors - $5.00

Village Markers Section Introduced!
To call attention to the extensive history of Garden City, the Village has installed Historic Markers at various locations and is in the process of adding more. As part of the project, a Markers page has been established to provide more information on the subjects and links to other data sources. The markers will all be provided with QR (Quick Response) codes to allow those interested to access the Markers page directly by photographing the code with a Smartphone app. The Markers page can also be accessed now by visiting our Village Markers page.
