Bricks4Kidz classes builds on the popular Lego bricks to deliver high quality educational play. Each hour-long class is an engaging experience for your child with a new project each week. Join Bricks4Kidz for a 6 week session on Wednesdays for building Planes, Trains and Automobiles OR Thursday for Construction Craze. Both themed classes will take begin the week of January 6th. Garden City Recreation and Parks will sponsor a performance of “A Fairy tale Winter” on Sunday, December 15th at 1pm in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall. Plaza Theatrical Productions will delight us with their rendition of this wonderful show. Admission is $5.00 and reservations are necessary by calling the Recreation and Parks Office at 465-4075.
It’s time to send letters to Santa and the Recreation Department will speed up the process! A special “Santa’s Mailbox” will be set up in the waiting area of the Recreation Department’s Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Avenue beginning December 3rd. Children can drop their letters in the mailbox and Santa will send them a personalized reply. Santa’s mailbox will be available through December 20th.
In addition to sending their letters to Santa, kids can take a chance at guessing the number of candy pieces in the jar next to Santa’s Mailbox and the child whose guess is closest to the actual number will win the jar, candy and all! As with Santa’s mailbox, the candy contest will be available from December 3rd to December 20th.
Santa will visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue for a visits and photos on December 11th and December 17th from 3 pm - 4:15 p.m. Bring your cameras to take photos! There is no fee for a photo but a donation of a small gift for Toys for Tots would be appreciated.
The Garden City Recreation Department’s Dance Conservatory Program is pleased to announce the start of registration for its upcoming 2019-2020 season! Director Felicia Menig, along with the rest of her staff, are excited to start off another fantastic year. The Dance Conservatory offers classes to Garden City residents ages 3 ½ years through adult which are non-performance based. Age is determined by the start date of the desired class.
The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce that this winter, the Recreation Staff will conduct a gym program for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade. This program will consist of organized games and activities in a supervised setting. This program will run on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 pm in St. Paul’s Field House. There is a $40 registration fee for this program and a permission slip is necessary. No fees will be taken at the door. For further information contact the Recreation Office at 465-4075.

The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce that this winter the Recreation Staff will conduct a six week gym program for children in grades 2 - 6.
The registration fee for this program is $40. The program will consist of organized games and activities in a supervised setting. This six week program will run from 3:30 to 5:45 pm in St. Paul’s Field House according to the following schedule:
Grades 2-3 Mondays from 3:30 – 5:45 pm beginning December 13
Grades 4-6 Fridays from 3:30 – 5:45 pm beginning December 9
Sneakers must be worn for any activity in the field house and only water is allowed in the facility.
