Flag football is offered as a Spring and Fall after-school activity for grades 3 to 5 both Grove and Nassau Haven Parks (Nassau only in Fall). Registrants are divided into teams and each team plays one or two games during the week after school from late mid-April to June in the Spring Season and September through mid November during the Fall Season. Games are refereed by the Recreation staff. Pre- registration is necessary for this program. Registration will begin after school starts.

With multiple sports in the two days of fun, the Institute’s Total Play Multisport Camp offers variety, quality and fun that can not be matched! Each participant will learn the skills and rules of different sports while enjoying fun scrimmages and games.
To register, the child must be a Village resident ages 5 to 12 by the start of the session. Please visit our office at 108 Rockaway Ave. to register or register online at www.ussportsinstitute.com. All checks must be made payable to US Sports Institute.

During the winter months, this popular program will provide after school activities for children in the Elementary School grades. This program will provide children with an opportunity to participate in basketball, dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag and other games and activities. Sneakers must be worn for all gym activities and a permission form must be signed at the beginning of the program. Both Stewart and Stratford children will attend the same session at St. Paul's Fieldhouse.
The Garden City Department Recreation and Parks conduct Children’s swimming lessons for Village residents at the Adelphi University Swimming Pool in Woodruff Hall on Saturday mornings during the winter. Your child must be six years of age by the start of the program to participate. Classes are taught by Red Cross Certified Instructors.
Level 1 - Introduction to water skills
Level 2 - children who have taken a lesson but need to learn fundamental skills
Level 3 - will build on fundamental skills by providing guided practices
Level 4 - Develops confidence in the strokes learned and improve other aquatic skills
Level 5 - Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
Level 6P - Personal Water Safety - stresses survival floating, treading water, swimming in clothes, etc.
Level 6F - Water Fitness - sessions will cover learning training techniques, how to use fins, kickboards, pace clock, etc.
