Overview

The Department of Recreation and Parks, with the advisement of the Senior Advisory Committee, is sponsoring the following trips for seniors who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City during the upcoming months. Please remember to register early because all trips are first come, first served.  

To register for any of these trips, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Ave.  Please note, once the fees are sent to the venues, they are not refundable so make your selections carefully. All trips are open to senior residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City only.



Wednesday, December 4 - Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden & Lunch on Arthur Ave

Experience of New York City’s beloved winter traditions as you enter a miniature world of botanical model trains. Journey through replicas of 140 New York landmarks. Round out the day by touring the grounds & visiting their exclusive gift shop. Then travel to Arthur Avenue for lunch at Mario’s with time for a little shopping. The trip will be cost $85, checks only made payable to Rendezvous Travel.

Thursday, March 19 - Trip to see “La Traviata” at the Metropolitan Opera

We will travel by coach bus, leaving St. Paul’s parking lot around 3:15 pm. When we arrive dinner will be on your own. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood. Show time is at 7:30 pm and we will travel home when the opera is over.

The cost of each ticket will be $80, checks only made payable to Village of Garden City. Space is limited so please register early by visiting the Recreation and Parks Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue.
