Garden City Tennis Center

About the Garden City Tennis Center!

The Garden City Community Indoor Tennis Center is open year round.  Our beautiful facility consists of four Har-Tru Tennis courts located behind the swimming pool complex at Community Park.  Village residents can purchase seasonal court time by calling the Recreation Administrative Office at (516) 465-4075.  For the latest, in open court time availability, please call the Community Park Clubhouse at (516) 483-2525.    

Tennis Lessons

The Tennis Center have lessons year round for adult and youth residents of the Village of Garden City.  To learn more about our group lessons please click here.

Women's Tennis League

If you are interested in joining one of our popular weekday tennis leagues, please contact  Tom McGerty at the Community Park Clubhouse, (516) 483-2525.  League play occurs during the months of September to May during the hours of 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The leagues are a great way of meeting people and getting exercise in a fun environment!


Be sure to stop at the Community Park Clubhouse next to the Tennis Center to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before or after play and enjoy the company of fellow residents. The building is equipped with changing rooms, rest rooms, showers, a 52 inch cable Plasma TV, and vending machines.

Open Play Time for Non-Residents

The Community Park Tennis Center, located at 52 Cherry Valley Ave, now offers open play tennis time to tennis players who do not reside within the Village of Garden City.

Tennis times are available during the following days and times only:
Friday - 6pm to 9pm
Saturday - 6pm to 9pm
Sundays - 5pm to 11pm

The cost per court hour is $60, payable by credit card ONLY (no AmEx).  you may reserve a court within two days of the day you would like to play.  Come play in our beautiful facility and reserve by calling 516-483-2525.

Community Park Goes Cashless

The Department of Recreation and Parks will no longer accept cash payments for program registrations, rentals, balls, and contracts at our Administrative Office or for platform tennis and tennis at Community Park.  Checks and credit cards (no AmEx) will continue to be accepted.
