About Platform Tennis at Community Park
One of the most popular winter activities in Garden City is the fast paced game of platform tennis. Our Community Park features four R.J. Reilly Aluminum Courts equipped for day and night play.
Many different “flights” play out of Community Park in both the men’s and women’s divisions of the Long Island Platform Tennis Association and Long Island Interclub Platform Tennis League. The Recreation and Parks Department also offers open play and instructional programs. Stop by the Clubhouse to purchase your platform tennis balls. Clubhouse
Adjacent to the courts is our clubhouse facility that provides players with indoor and deck viewing of the courts. The clubhouse is also equipped with changing rooms, rest rooms, showers, a 52 inch cable Plasma TV, and vending machines. On the outdoor deck, there are red wood tables, outdoor furniture and two patio heaters.
Platform Lessons
Beginners and advanced beginners alike can better learn the game of platform, and improve their play by enrolling in platform tennis lessons. We offer hour and a half lessons and game play lessons, which are held for seven weeks in late fall and early spring.
